Otolaryngology (ENT) Needed in Central Pennsylvania

Job Overview: ENT Physician Needed Start Date: January 6, 2025

Contract Duration: Through March 2025

• Coverage Type: Scheduled office hours and 24/7 on-call responsibilities.
• On-Call Requirements:
  • Available 24/7 while on assignment.
  • Call Routing:
    • Daytime (Monday-Friday): Calls routed to the office.
    • After hours/weekends: Calls directed to provider's cell phone.
    • Call sources may include ER, inpatient units, or nurse triage for patient inquiries.
  • On-Call Volume: Varies; some days may be quiet, while others may have several calls.
  • Must stay within a 30-minute distance from the hospital.
  • Most calls are non-urgent, but some may require immediate attention.
• Monday-Friday:
  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Hourly rate applies).
  • Night Call: 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM (Night call rate + callback rate, if applicable).
• Weekends (Saturday-Sunday):
  • 24-hour call: 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM (24-hour call rate + callback rate, if applicable).

• Practice Setting: Free-standing clinic.
• Support Staff: Seeking a physician with enough experience to function independently; no other ENT physicians will be available for consultation.
• EMR/Charting Software: Epic Care, Cerner Core Power Chart, Surginet, Profee.
• Patient Demographics:
  • 70% adult, 30% pediatric patients.

Typical Day:

• General ENT Cases:
  • Cerumen removal, ear tubes, tonsils, hearing loss, tinnitus, nosebleeds, sinus infections, dysphagia, ear infections.
• Surgical & Office-Based Procedures:
  • Biopsies, nasal fracture reductions, abscess drainage, trach care, balloon sinuplasty (in-office or OR), thyroids, parotids, and others.
  • Capability to manage tongue ties, ETD balloon dilation, oral/vocal cord lesions, and cancers.

Required Skills:

• Typical Cases Include:
  • Thyroid nodules, nasal fractures, oral or vocal cord lesions, cancers.
  • Common issues such as ear infections, sinus infections, and hearing loss.
• Surgical Details:
  • Scheduled surgeries are conducted within ENT block time, Monday-Friday.
