The UCLA Department of Ophthalmology and Stein Eye Institute invite applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of associate or full professor to serve as chief of the retina division.
The selected candidate will also be recommended for appointment as The Ahmanson Chair in Ophthalmology, an administrative endowed chair in the Department of Ophthalmology.
We seek a clinician scientist with strong national or international reputation who is interested in significant:
- medical and/or surgical activity,
- teaching of medical students, residents and fellows,
- research, and publication in professional and scientific journals.
The candidate is expected to oversee the administration of the Retina Division and be actively engaged in service to the University and to the profession. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

Compensation Details
$250-429k
-- The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/compensation/index.html) set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation, as well as a clinical driven incentive pay program. -- You may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance due on your eligible federal student loans based on your employment in a public service job like UCLA. -- Household and lab relocation assistance may be available.
