University of Mississippi Medical Center
Neuroradiology with no procedures. Great work/life balance with competitive compensation & unparalleled visa support
Jackson, MS
University of Mississippi Medical Center
The Department of Radiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a full-time neuroradiologist to join our academic radiology practice.
Enjoy a reasonable daily workload with typical 8 hour workday and interesting case mix, with the opportunity to teach the next generation of radiologists through our radiology residency program as interests permit. Evening and weekend call is infrequent, with the opportunity to do more or less call depending on desired compensation. All invasive neuroradiology procedures are covered by our clinically-oriented interventional radiology group. Opportunities exist for research and scholarly activity, but there are no research requirements.
UMMC is the state's only academic medical center, providing the highest level of care to patients with the greatest needs. The suburbs of Jackson are a hidden gem of high quality living with a surprising array of shopping and restaurant options and incredibly easy airport access, with a very low cost of living and very reasonable real estate prices. Our radiologists enjoy strong working relationships within the department and across specialties.
The Mississippi Tort Claims Act protects University employees from personal liability for incidents that occur during the course and scope of his or her employment. UMMC provides occurrence malpractice insurance (i.e., no need for tail coverage).
Candidates with visa needs are encouraged to apply. The Delta Regional Authority has no caps on international candidate slots. UMMC has a very experienced international services department and our department covers all legal and allowable administrative expenses associated with visa support.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, or equivalent
- Board certification or eligibility by the ABR; neuroradiology subspecialty certification (CAQ) is preferred
