Spine Consultant/Musculoskeletal/Outpatient Clinic

MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine is seeking a Physiatrist (MD/DO) with additional proficiency in Musculoskeletal/Sports Medicine for their well-established outpatient multispecialty Spine Center in Scarborough.  The ideal candidate enhances our comprehensive model of care with proficiency in diagnosis and management of both musculoskeletal non-surgical spinal conditions.  A Sports Medicine fellowship is not required.  The ability to perform ultrasound guided injections (peripheral joints) is preferred.  Call taken from home and amounts to approximately six weeks per year.  The selected candidate will join 10 physiatrists, 12 surgeons, 2 anesthesiologists, and 3 physical therapists.

 

About the position:

·       Leading Spine and Neurosurgical Practice in the state of Maine.

·       Clinical work includes consultations and ongoing management of spine conditions and musculoskeletal

·       Work alongside physiatrists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic spine surgeons, and anesthesiologists.

·       Built in 2019, the 100,000ft2 medical building has on-site access to EMG, X-ray, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and MRI.  Access colleagues in Neurosurgery, Physiatry, Neurology, Vascular surgery, and ENT all in the same building.

·       Work with other Spine centers across the MaineHealth network

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

·       MD/DO from an accredited medical school.

·       Board Certified/Board Eligible in Physiatry.

·       Prior experience with diagnosis and management of a variety of spine and musculoskeletal conditions.
