Southwest Medical Associates (SMA), an Optum company, is Nevada’s largest multi-specialty practice, with over 350 physicians and advanced practice clinicians.
Position Highlights:
- The schedule is equitable and flexible, with ample time off
- Providers work primarily 4 - 9-hour work weeks, with some weekends, nights and holiday shifts distributed evenly among the staff
- Additional shifts, which are paid at a premium rate, are also available
- The schedule is ideal for those who desire an alternative work schedule and who do not wish to conform to a traditional five-day work week

Required Qualifications:
- Board certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
- An unrestricted DEA and Controlled Substance License (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- 2+ years of experience working as a Physician in an emergency or urgent care setting
- Proven comfortable and experienced in treating high acuity patients (i.e. CHF, atrial fibrillation, chest pain, etc.)
- Ability to cover at other facilities if needed
Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $259,240 to $359,754 annually. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
