  • MaineHealth Medical Group Women’s Health is seeking an experienced, Fellowship-trained Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery board-certified Urogynecologist to serve as the Associate Medical Director for the Division of Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery in Portland, Maine.

    The Division of Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery is the most comprehensive center in Maine for the diagnosis and treatment of incontinence, prolapse and other pelvic floor disorders. The program’s highly skilled and compassionate team of specialists includes 2 BC Urogynecologists, a vulvovaginal specialist, 3 FNPs, and with collaborative ties to colorectal surgeons and gastroenterologists provide comprehensive care for female pelvic floor disorders.  

    MaineHealth Medical Center-Portland's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers specialty and sub-specialty health care services within the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is actively involved in research and education, as well as providing quality clinical care. In addition to Urogynecology, sub-specialties include Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology, and Complex Family Planning services.

    The clinical components of the position require extensive experience in medical and surgical management of pelvic floor disorders. In addition to excellent clinical skills, the ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership and operational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment in a large, dynamic health system. The ideal candidate would also have a strong interest in teaching (UME/GME). The position involves an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine, and the Associate Medical Director of Pelvic medicine will also have the opportunity to oversee the graduate and undergraduate medical education in pelvic floor disorders and urogynecology.

    Qualifications:

    1. MD/DO from an accredited medical school
    2. Completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology
    3. Completed an accredited fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery
    4. Board Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics
    5. and Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery
