The Maternal, Fetal, & Neonatal Institute (MFNI) at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking a candidate to hold the position of Division Chief of Newborn Medicine. This role encompasses both clinical and administrative responsibilities as a MFNI leader in clinical care, education, and mentoring.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Division Chief for the Division of Newborn Medicine leads the group of medical directors of the NICUs at the 97-bed main campus Level IV NICU and six affiliate hospitals and is responsible for ensuring the highest quality and consistent neonatal care across the JHACH system as well as the well-being and performance of neonatology faculty at each site. 

The Division Chief reports to the Director of the Maternal Fetal Neonatal Institute (MFNI) of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and works closely with the MFNI leadership triad and division chiefs in obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine.  She/he will work with MFNI leaders and NICU faculty and staff to advance the hospital and institute strategic plan, identify and build key partnerships, and disseminate and support a vision of the future that can be embraced by all. 

The Division Chief will interface with leaders and faculty in other disciplines throughout JHACH and will lead multidisciplinary evidence-based NICU care of babies and families, working directly with faculty and staff to achieve alignment with JHACH values, behaviors, and strategic vision.  She/He will work in close collaboration with NICU leaders and managers in nursing, advanced practice, respiratory therapy, and other disciplines, as well as those leading residency and fellowship training programs – with a focus on promoting evidence-based and family-centered care, quality and safety, clinical research, and education.  She/he will provide clinical expertise, serving as a mentor, guide, and resource to faculty and trainees.  

Requirements include 5+ years in leadership role in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. The ideal candidate will have superior leadership skills and a track record of academic achievement consistent with appointment to the rank of associate or full professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A candidate who meets the academic requirements as an assistant professor who is close to meeting requirements may be considered.
