  • The Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Health Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neurosurgeon to join our dedicated team in Hershey, PA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating neurological conditions in infants, children, and adolescents. This role involves performing complex surgical procedures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing comprehensive care to young patients and their families.

    Position Highlights

    · Penn State Health Children’s Hospital is the most comprehensive children’s hospital between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, fully equipped to treat the most severely ill children of central Pennsylvania, with both the highest-level neonatal intensive care unit and a Level I pediatric trauma center.

    · The Penn State Department of Neurosurgery consists of seven clinical divisions covering all the major subspecialty areas of neurosurgery and is the only academic neurosurgical practice in South Central PA.

    · The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery includes three fellowship trained Pediatric Neurosurgeons.

    · Clinical programs include multidisciplinary teams in adult and pediatric neurooncology, rehabilitation, pathology, and radiation oncology, as well as subspecialty clinics for the care of patients with spinal dysraphisms, spasticity and neurofibromatosis.

    · The latest technologies and services are available including high-field strength MRI, neuroendovascular therapies, advanced brain mapping, intraoperative imaging, responsive neural stimulation, operative robotics, and neuroendoscopy.

    · Opportunities to mentor and teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

    · Faculty rank commensurate with experience.

    Requirements

    · MD, MD/PhD, DO or equivalent degree

    · BC/BE Neurosurgery with completion of Pediatric Neurosurgery fellowship

    · Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania

    · Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates

    · A track record of academic productivity and clinical excellence is required
