APP Openings - Cardiac Thoracic Surgery - Sanger Heart and Vascular Institute

As one of the Southeast's largest cardiac and vascular programs we provide the highest quality care to patients with cardiovascular disease throughout North Carolina. Sanger has more than 50 years of experience in providing comprehensive acute and chronic cardiovascular services. We currently have the following openings in CVT Surgery:

CVT Surgery High Acuity APP – Charlotte, NC

• OR only position which is weighted toward thoracic surgery, providing first assistance in open and video assisted thoracic cases as well as robotic lung surgery
• Provide a wide range of surgical and medical services which include first assisting with a myriad of cardiothoracic surgeries and demonstrate an independent competency in endoscopic vein harvesting
• Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.  
• Weekends, Holidays, and Call required on a rotating schedule. 

APP - Cardiothoracic Surgery Nocturnist - Pineville, NC

• Shifts:  Nocturnist – 12-hour shifts, proposed 7 days on/7 days off, (can be flexible), position is for night shift, 84 hours per pay period
• Weekends, Holidays required.  No Call.  Travel to other sites may be required.
• Providing care for Sanger patients to include Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery.
• Manage acute problems that arise including changes in patient status, nursing calls, patient calls, codes and RRTs for Sanger patients we are actively following.
• Obtain detailed history and physicals on all consultations and admissions that occur during shift.

APP - CVT Floor - Concord, NC

• The practice has 12 cardiac and thoracic surgeons across SHVI and 28 surgical APPs at three sites 
• Busy practice averaging 1500 cases a year between cardiac and thoracic services 
• The practice performs both inpatient and outpatient procedures and utilizes a closed ICU
• No OR responsibilities. No call.  Travel may be required to other sites. 
• Position consists of providing care to both cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. 
• Work in the inpatient setting on a rotating four, 10-hour shift schedule with rotating weekend coverage.  Anticipated to work 1 weekend every 3-4 weeks.
