I finished Elementary, Junior High and High School in San Francisco, CA. I received my BA degree from Fisk University and my MD degree from Meharry Medical College both in Nashville, TN. I completed my Internship, medical residency and Chief Medical Resident years at University of California San Francisco, Mount Zion Hospital. Subspecialty training was done at the University of California San Francisco in Gastroenterology.. I practiced from 1976 through 2014 in Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco, CA.
