Summary
- Through research, clinical care and population-level health initiatives, my goal is to relieve pain, improve physical function and optimize the health of musculoskeletal patients, holistically. Physiatry patients in both the U.S. and in my native West Africa are my focus. There, academic sports medicine remains nascent, image-guided interventional spine care is absent and the specialty of Physiatry has yet to be developed. My vision arises from experiences as a physician, professional athlete, and public health advocate, and allows these interests to dovetail into simultaneous expression. Competence, compassion and innovation characterize my academic and clinical activities.
