  • I am a Board Certified Pediatric Endocrinologist and Director of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. I completed my pediatric residency and endocrinology training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where I was a member of the Pediatric Endocrine Metabolic Unit until 1990, when I came to Vanderbilt. I continue the research I started at the MGH on the regulation of liver regeneration and hepatocyte biology. I see children across the spectrum of endocrine disorders and my clinical research focuses on type 1 diabetes prevention. I am the PI for the NIH-funded Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet Clinical Center at Vanderbilt University.
