  • Dr. William B. Klein (Brent) is a flight surgeon and deputy Chief of the Aerospace Medicine, 78th Medical Group, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. He serves as an advisor on subjects pertaining to Aerospace Medicine to include Public Health, Operational Medicine, Occupational Medicine and Preventive Medicine for Robins AFB. He also assists in the management and staffing of the flight medicine and operational medicine clinics and involved in full-time outpatient clinical practice. A native of New York, New York, Dr. Klein graduated from LSU Medical School in 1986, and following an internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, entered active duty in 1987. He has commanded an aerospace medicine squadron and an air transportable hospital during previous assignments. He has also served as 332 Medical Group Commander at Tallil AB, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and as chief of aerospace medicine for the 31 Expeditionary Wing during Operation ALLIED FORCE. He completed the Residency in Aerospace Medicine at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine in 1994 and is board certified in aerospace medicine and occupational medicine. In 2008 he transitioned from active duty to a civilian flight surgeon position at Robins AFB. In 2009 he joined the Air Force as a Reservist and served tours as the Reserve medical commander at Moody AFB in Valdosta, Georgia and Individual Mobilization augmentee at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center. He has been a flight surgeon for more than 30 years with more than 1800 flying hours in 40 different aircraft.
