Dr. Godfrey is an Atlanta native and attended Georgia Tech for his undergraduate studies as a mechanical engineer. He worked for Caterpillar in Illinois for a time before returning to Georgia to begin his medical training at Emory University. He remained at Emory University for his Orthopedic Surgery Residency, where he was elected Chief Resident. Dr. Godfrey then completed Harvard Medical School’s Total Joint Arthroplasty Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. These experiences provided Dr. Godfrey with advanced training in minimally invasive Direct Anterior hip replacement, same-day joint replacement, partial knee replacement, and robotic-assisted surgery.
