- Dr. William Crowley is the Daniel K. Podolsky Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an endocrinologist at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He graduated from Tufts School of Medicine and has been at the Massachusetts General Hospital for 54 years. He specializes in clinical research in the neuroendocrinologic and genetic control of human reproduction in men, women and puberty. He served as the inaugural Director of Clinical Research at the MGH for 16 years; had continuous NIH funding for 46 years; and has trained 85 postdoctoral fellows in translational research, the majority of whom were women and 65% of whom are now Professors around the globe including Harvard Medical School. Dr. Crowley served as President of The Endocrine Society in 2001 is a member of the American Society of Clinical Research, the American Association of Physicians and the recipient of The Fred Conrad Koch Award, the Endocrine Society’s highest scientific award. He was also awarded Women in Endocrinology’s Mentor of the Year, the first time this award was given to a male.
