- Dr. Armstrong completed his undergraduate education at Tulane University majoring in Biology and minoring in Performance Piano and French. He completed a masters in Medical Sciences before attending medical school at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He started his urology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his training at UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX. He then joined Urology Tyler, P.A. in Tyler, TX to continue his professional career as a practicing urologist.
Dr. Armstrong is a urologist whose specific urological interests include robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System. Oncologic surgeries he performs via this technique include robotic radical prostatectomy, robotic radical cystectomy, robotic partial and radical nephrectomy, robotic pyeloplasty and ureteral reimplantation, and robotic simple prostatectomy. His other specific interests include urologic trauma, reconstructive surgery, and surgical and medical management of kidney stone disease, including endoscopic and percutaneous approaches. Dr. Armstrong also has an interest in voiding dysfunction and urodynamic evaluation of the lower urinary tract and provides all services of a general urologist, including surgery for an enlarged prostate (including the Urolift procedure), other endoscopic urological surgeries, and vasectomy.
