Her research is focused on mechanisms of injury and recovery in intracerebral hemorrhage with focus on multicenter clinical trials of minimally invasive surgery to treat hemorrhagic stroke. She is PI of the NIH-funded REASSESS ICH study (Repeated Assessment of Survivors in Intracerebral Hemorrhage). Dr. Ziai is involved in various clinical trials, serving as the Principal Investigator for the BEACH study and participating in multiple studies related to intracerebral hemorrhage and neurologic injury.
