- Wayneho Kam, MD is a staff neurohospitalist at UNC Health Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 2015. He completed a medical internship and neurology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee and vascular neurology fellowship at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. Upon completion of his training, he served for 3 years on the faculty of Duke University School of Medicine/Duke University Hospital before being recruited to UNC Health in 2023. His clinical practice encompasses both vascular and general neurology in the emergency and inpatient settings. He has a particular clinical interest in cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT), a cause of venous strokes in young adults. He served as a member of the writing group for the 2024 American Heart Association (AHA) scientific consensus statement on the management of CVT which was endorsed by four professional medical societies in the United States. Dr. Kam has published several peer-reviewed scientific articles appearing in JAMA, Lancet Neurology, Stroke, Neurology, and Brain.
