Summary
- I am a Family Nurse Practitioner who has specialized in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. I also do some general Orthpaedics and Family Practice.
I served in the US Navy for 25 years as a Hospital Corpsman. I received further training as an Aerospace Medicine and Physiology technician working in hypo and hyperbaeric chambers, training aircrews in aviation water survival and flew search and rescue amassing more than 2500 hours of helicopter flight time. I spent 14 out of 25 years serving with Marine Corps units.
I received a Direct Commission into the Navy Nurse Corps in 1984. I worked in the ICU and ER of NRMC San Diego for two separate 3+ years and rejoined the Marines from the NH Philadelphia during Desert Shield/Storm aboard the USS Iwo Jima, LPH-2. My final tour moved us to New Orleans where I was Officer in Charge of a naval medical clinic.
I retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in 1995.
I attended graduate school at Loyola University from 1998-2000 graduating in their first class of FNP's. I continued to work in Emergency Medicine after leaving the Navy with time spent at Tulane University Medical Center, Charity Hospital New Orleans and Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
