  • Dr. Wayne Batchelor is an Interventional Cardiologist and President of the Medicine Service Line at the Inova Health System in Fairfax, Virginia, U.S.A. He is also a Professor of Medicine at Duke University, Chair of the American College of Cardiology's (ACC) Interventional Cardiology Sectional Leadership Council, and Vice-Chair of the NCDR STS/ACC TVT Registry. He has decades of experience as an interventional cardiologist, physician executive, physician scientist, and educator. He has previously served as system Director of Interventional Cardiology and Interventional Research and Associate Director of Inova Schar Heart and Vascular, President of Southern Medical Group, P.A., in Tallahassee Florida, Chair of the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital (TMH) Medical Staff Executive Committee, and on the TMH Board of Directors. Dr. Batchelor has special expertise in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, complex/high risk percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), structural heart disease, clinical trials in cardiovascular disease, regulatory science and health care disparities. He has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally, published over 250 peer-reviewed original abstracts/manuscripts, multiple book chapters and participated in over 175 clinical trials, including serving as National Principal Investigator and numerous Clinical Trial Steering Committees. He is a Senior Advisor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) and serves on the Editorial Boards of Circulation, Journal of the Society of Coronary Angiography and Intervention (JSCAI), and Cardiovascular Revascularization Medicine (CRM). Dr. Batchelor recently received an Executive MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business in 2024 and is a special government employee/consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Cardiovascular Devices Branch.
