Alongside his work as a healthcare operations director, Dr. Okoranyanwu is a highly regarded expert in a variety of fields, and has been tapped by local and global leaders to lead important health initiatives, among these include: ● Appointed by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to the Executive Membership of the NY City Ryan White HIV/AIDS Planning Council, where he chaired three different committees during his two-term four-year tenure beginning in 2006. The Planning Council was credited with reducing and controlling HIV prevalence in New York City below the national average for the first time ever during his tenure.● Since 2018, he has been serving at the request of Mayor Ras J. Baraka on the Newark Eligible Metropolitan Area (NEMA) Planning Council of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. As a member of the Consumer Committee Consultancy he provides direction on the treatment, prevention, and care to all residents infected with HIV/AIDS regardless of their ability to pay.● Acts as the Founder/Chairman of P&T Contracting LLC, an organization providing health consulting services in Nigeria with the governments of Imo, Abia and The Benue States of Nigeria. His early career centered on direct patient care, where he worked as Visiting Faculty at the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Infectious Diseases of the State University of New Jersey in Newark NJ. During his time, he focused on Pediatric and Adolescent HIV/AIDS research in the elimination of perinatal HIV transmission in developing nations through deployment of PRATT Pouch technology.
