- I am a Board-Certified OB/GYN. 2023 stopped working in private practice, now work as a locums tenens MD. Work in rural communities in dire need of help. 1996 - BA from Columbia University-1997-99 research at Northshore/LIJ & MS biology from St. John’s University 2006 intern NY Medical College Brooklyn/Queens '08-10 residency San Antonio Uniformed Health Science Education Consortium. 2010 -a teaching attending at the SAMMC Fort Sam Houston, TX. 2012 -transferred to Fort Benning, GA was a teaching attending at Martin Army Community Hospital. 4 years active-duty physician and soldier U.S. Army. Served in combat 2012-2013 as Officer in Charge/Battalion Surgeon/ Women’s Health Consultant at the Battalion Aid Station, Jalalabad, Afghanistan, OEF XIII. Honorable discharge 2013, joined private practice NYC then moved to NC in 2015. I have appeared on Fox 8 House Call to discuss “Women’s Health After Having a Baby.” CBS WFMY news in the feature: “Why are Black Women Dying During Childbirth”. My patients mean everything to me & I have formed lifelong friendships and “family” along the way. I am keen on having a warm bedside manner and I strive to be loving, and sensitive to all the women I encounter and am committed providing high-quality care to all patients no matter what faith, background, gender preference I have delivered 1000s of babies (VBACs, complex high order c-sections. I have experience performing routine and complex gynecologic surgeries incl. invasive laparoscopic hysterectomies and surgery for female pelvic floor relaxation & urinary incontinence. I have overcome grave personal challenges in my life. In 1986, my mother was shot 9 times in my home I cared for her from age of 11 until her passing 3 days after returning home from war. 2016, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy and chemotherapy I am now a 7 yr breast cancer survivor.
