Summary
- I am a Professor of Neurology and an academic epileptologist working at Penn State University. I am board certified in Neurology and Epilepsy. My research interests include intractable epilepsy, neurostimulation and epilepsy surgery involving the eloquent brain cortex. I am a recipient of American Epilepsy Society's Young Investigator award and Doris Flynn International Fellowship award. I serve on many national and international committees in my field, I have published several research papers, I have been an invited speaker at many national and international conferences. I am a recipient of Albert Nelson lifetime achievement award given by the Marquis Who's Who. I have been included in the best doctors of America and Top Physicians in America directories. I am very passionate about medical education and have completed two major courses at the Harvard Macy Institute. I have been selected to teach some of the courses at the Harvard Macy Institution. I have received multiple awards in education including the " Distinguished Educator Award" two "Scholarship In Education" awards and " Excellence in teaching and Mentoring award" which was given to me by the graduating class of 2021. American Academy of Neurology has honored me with the A.B. Baker Teacher recognition award. My goal is to incorporate medical innovation and technology as competencies in medical education. I am an epileptologist specializing in neurostimulation and I closely work with engineers in the field. I would like to create a curriculum for medical students who are also interested in engineering.
