Summary
- I am a Board Certified, Physician and Surgeon. My clinical clinical interests encompass medical, refractive, and non-refractive surgical diseases of the cornea, anterior segment, and lens. This includes, but is not limited to, corneal transplantation, No stitch, microincisional cataract surgery with astigmatism and presbyopic correcting intraocular lenses, and laser vision correction (LASIK, PRK). My research interests include advances in cataract and refractive technology, dry eye management, specialty contact lenses, and applications of information technology in ophthalmology.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the Berkeley campus of the University of California. I also completed graduate degrees from Boston University's School of Medicine and Questrom Graduate School of Business. I have also trained at internationally renowned medical centers: including a transitional year internship at Weill Cornell Medical College – New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens. I completed my ophthalmology residency at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in downtown Chicago- where I also served as Chief Resident. I completed a cornea research fellowship at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City under Penny A. Asbell, MD. I also sought an additional year of specialized surgical fellowship training in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery under David J. Schanzlin, MD, Michael Gordon, MD, and Jack L. Weiss, MD.
