Summary
- I am an Internal Medicine/Preventive Medicine (IM/PM) Physician. From 2018 to October 2023, I served as Program Director for the Combined IM/PM Residency Program, one of only four of its kind in the nation, and the PM Residency Program as well as Chair of the Department of Preventive Medicine at Griffin Hospital. In my capacity as Program Director, I managed two types of Residency Programs to ensure we met and exceeded expectations of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Our Programs were consistently commended by our ACGME Residency Review Committee for demonstrating substantial compliance with the Common Program Requirements. I relished teaching, mentoring, advising, and preparing my IM/PM and PM Residents to develop skills to positively impact patients on the individual and population levels and build the narrative for their future careers and callings in medicine. As Chair of Preventive Medicine, I was Principal Investigator of HRSA and ACS Preventive Medicine training grants, where I developed innovative curricula in IM/PM, specifically in Primary Care, Population Health/Social Determinants of Health, Addiction Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine/Wellbeing, and Emergency Preparedness. I was also the Founding Director for the Griffin Center for Healthy Living, umbrella for lifestyle change and chronic disease prevention programs. My career passion is training future physicians who will promote the health and wellbeing of the people they serve, while also thriving and taking care of their own wellbeing. In my current role in New Jersey, I serve as the Founding Program Director of the IM Residency Program at Holy Name. We endeavor to train our diverse Residents to be well-equipped to promote the health and well-being of those they serve and lead, while also taking care of their well-being and flourishing so they can enjoy and sustain long, meaningful, and fruitful in the ever-evolving landscape of the US healthcare system.
