Overview of Dr. Sondak

Vernon Sondak, MD is a general surgeon based in Tampa, FL, with a subspecialty in surgical oncology, focusing on non-breast oncology as well as melanoma and cutaneous malignancies. Dr. Sondak did his general surgery residency and surgical oncology training at UCLA Medical Center from 1980-1987 after graduating from Boston University School of Medicine in 1980. He currently serves as the Chair for the Department of Cutaneous Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, a role he's held since 2004. Dr. Sondak has written or coauthored over 500 publications, primarily relating to cancer research, and has been involved in multiple clinical trials. His notable awards include holding the Richard M Schulze Family Foundation Distinguished Endowed Chair in Cutaneous Oncology from the Moffitt Cancer Center since 2018 and recognitions as one of America's Top Doctors by Castle Connolly multiple times.
