    Dr. Vera is a board-certified Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine physician, a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, and has a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Informatics.

    She worked as an Assistant Professor and physician-scientist at Nova Southeastern University’s Institute for Neuro-Immune Medicine for seven years. This Institute is a national referral center for patients with chronic fatigue of unknown origin. She was also the principal investigator for studies that evaluated the effectiveness of the integrative/functional medicine approach and the use of technology to improve the care of patients with complex chronic diseases.

    Dr. Vera uses a multi-system approach to evaluate and manage patients with several chronic symptoms and unclear diagnoses in her clinical practice. She uses advanced functional medicine testing to personalize her patients’ treatment and has ample experience offering telemedicine appointments. Her expertise includes managing conditions like Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Mycotoxin exposure, chronic viral reactivation, dysautonomia, Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, autoimmunity, food sensitivities, hormonal imbalance, among others, and more recently, post-viral fatigue after SARS-CoV-2 infection.

    Dr. Vera strives to create a partnership with her patients, taking into account their preferences and empowering them to acquire the skills to support their healing process. She is a life-long learner and attends conferences and workshops regularly to offer her patients the most updated treatment options.
