Summary

  • I am board certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine besides having a MBA degree with healthcare emphasis.I have had 20+ years of experience dealing with the entire spectrum of Nephrology (Chronic kidney disease, in-center and home dialysis, long-term kidney transplant care, electrolyte disorders, renal stones & glomerulonephritis).
I have been in leadership role through out my career:
    •    Establish a community department of Nephrology and Hypertension in the Southwest Wisconsin region aligned with destination practice at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. This required leading a cross-functional team. Developed a roadmap for integration of community practices with destination practice leveraging technology (eg telehealth).
Improving healthcare "value" for all stakeholders - standardization of care protocols, reducing waste, improving market share, improving patient experience.
    •    As Medical Director, of Quality and Process Improvement for Mayo Clinic Dialysis System, I was responsible to ensure compliance with CMS regulatory conditions, oversee Quality incentive payment (QIP), develop standardized care protocols , help Dialysis Medical Directors, develop an Enterprise Quality dashboard, identify gaps in services and diffuse best practices. I established relationship with CMS ESRD network staff and contributed regularly on regional policy making and discussions.
    •    I acted as the liaison between Nephrologists and Executive leadership. Investigated the key drivers determining the relationship between employee satisfaction and patient satisfaction using structural equation modeling.
    •    Served 4 years as Medical Director for Patient Experience of Southwest Wisconsin region for Mayo Clinic Health System. I have coached and mentored several staff and physicians. I served as a faculty on the “Mayo Clinic Workshop on Effective Communication in Healthcare”.

I am interested in providing "value" to our patients - improve quality, outcomes, experience in a cost efficient manner.
