- Dr. Venkat Ganapathy is a double board-certified and dual fellowship trained Orthopaedic Spine surgeon. He currently serves as an Associate professor & Chief of Orthopaedic Spine Surgery at the University of Arizona College Medicine, Tucson, AZ. He is also a teaching faculty of AOSpine North America.
Expertly trained by renowned leaders in spine surgery and with two spine fellowships, Dr. Ganapathy is a highly skilled surgeon who treats in all types of adult spinal conditions. He specializes in the treatment of complex spine conditions, adult spinal deformity such as scoliosis and kyphosis, degenerative spine conditions, disc herniations, cervical/thoracic myelopathy, spine trauma, infections and tumours of the spine. He strives to provide the highest quality of evidence-based and patient-centered spine care employing traditional procedures and state-of-the-art operative techniques including minimally invasive surgery.
Dr. Ganapathy has research interests and has published articles in leading peer-reviewed medical journals. He serves currently as an associate editor for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Spine section. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Spine and The Spine Journal.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, fellow of the The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada , the North American Spine Society (NASS), the Canadian Orthopedic Association (COA), the American Orthopedic Association Emerging Leaders (AOA) and AOSpine.
