Dr. Venkat Mangunta is an anesthesiologist and intensivist practicing cardiothoracic and vascular anesthesia as well as cardiac critical care medicine at the University of Virginia Health System.

Prior to joining UVA Health, he was a cardiothoracic and critical care anesthesiologist at the St. Luke's Mid America Heart Institute in Kansas City, MO. He received his medical degree from University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine with specialty and subspecialty training at UMass Medical School, Johns Hopkins and the Texas Heart Institute/BCM and has been in practice 5 years. He specializes in cardiothoracic anesthesiology, critical care medicine, and perioperative care and is experienced in transesophageal echocardiography, advanced airway management, critical care medicine, shock states and mechanical circulatory support.
