- Dr. Bigby is a fellowship trained, board certified orthopaedic surgeon, who specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery. Dr. Bigby grew up in the Midwest, but has been in the DC area for the last 17 years. He attended undergrad at Florida A&M University and received his medical degree from Howard University. He subsequently completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Howard University Hospital before pursuing a final year of fellowship training in Adult Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his academic career, he has received many awards and accolades.
After completing his year of fellowship training in 2016, Dr. Bigby returned to the DC area to practice. He practiced locally for 5 years before joining Bay Area Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Bigby is skilled in treating a variety of orthopaedic conditions in adults and children, but has particular interest in outpatient hip and knee replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgery, and complex reconstructive surgery of the hips and knees. His mission is to provide state of the art, compassionate care to his patients, and prides himself in treating his patients as he would his family. The majority of his surgical patients are able to go home the same day, safely and comfortably.
Dr. Bigby currently resides in Washington D.C. and in his spare time enjoys music, photography, and traveling.
