- Dr. Tyler Surma is a fellowship-trained hip and knee reconstruction surgeon. A native of Tuscola, IL, he went on to complete his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He received his B.S. in Athletic Training with honors. He completed medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago and was a member of the AOA honor medical society. He finished his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri, where during his final year, he served as the administrative chief resident. Upon completion of his residency, he pursued specialized training in hip and knee reconstruction at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.
His surgical interests include anterior total hip replacement, partial and total knee replacement, and revision surgery of hip and knee replacements.
