His research work includes several publications on topics such as clinician educator milestones, vaccine hesitancy, and the impact of COVID-19 on medical education. He has been recognized nationally by the American Osteopathic Foundation Educator of the Year, the George Northup Educator of the Year and with the Most Compassionate Doctor award by the American Registry.
    Dr. Cymet described a new syndrome called Erondu-Cymet Syndrome and identified the first victims of the Postal Anthrax Attack of 2001.
