• Dr. Tyler Berger, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and the medical and surgical management of glaucoma.   A native of Lower Burrell, PA, Dr. Berger graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mercyhurst University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, where he also competed in NCAA Division II wrestling. He earned his medical degree from the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, graduating in the top 10% of his class. After completing a medical internship at Allegheny General Hospital, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati, serving as chief resident in his final year.
  
  Dr. Berger then completed a medical and surgical glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, gaining advanced training in complex cataract surgery, iris reconstruction, and intraocular lens fixation. Following his fellowship, he joined the Cincinnati Eye Institute, where he quickly became the highest volume glaucoma surgeon within the practice and was entrusted by other ophthalmologists as the primary referral point for most challenging surgical cases.
  Dr. Berger’s dedication to learning and professional develop has earned him numerous accolades, including election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the Most Outstanding Surgeon Award during his residency, as well as the Alan and Karen Zalta Research Award for his clinical research. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at both regional and national conferences.
  
  In his free time, Dr. Berger enjoys golf, hiking, traveling, spending time with family, and fly fishing as much as possible.
