After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Spelman College, Dr. Sampson-Mills earned her medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. She completed residency at the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, where she also served as Chief Resident. Her forensic psychiatry fellowship was completed at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. While in fellowship, Dr. Sampson-Mills testified as an expert witness.
Dr. Sampson-Mills has several organizational leadership experiences including but not limited to serving as Secretary of the Black Psychiatrists' of America, Inc. and National President of the Student National Medical Association. In January 2023, Dr. Sampson-Mills will begin her term on the Wright State University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Her professional interests include forensic psychiatry, medical education and community mental health. Dr. Sampson-Mills embraces her personal mission of serving the underserved in her work.
