Carver College of Medicine in 2008, completed med-peds residency at the University of Maryland in 2012, a fellowship in International Emergency Medicine at University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Master's certificate in Refugee Trauma and Mental Health from Harvard University. She served as the pediatrics residency program director for University of Pennsylvania/Vinuniversity from 2021-2022 in Hanoi, Vietnam. She is dedicated to medical education at UME, GME, and faculty levels with special focus in health equity and an anti-racism/anti-colonialism lens. She has 25+ years experience working with refugees and immigrants, working in disaster medicine, and in medical education in low resourced areas. She has been in clinical practice for over 15 years.
