Starting with a bachelors in journalism at the University of Texas and graduate work in organizational communication I took a job as a music minister then a pastor in Austin for nine years. After a sabbatical in Maryland as a magazine editor I moved back to Austin to take my premed classes and started medical school in Galveston in 1992. I did a family medicine residency in Waco serving as chief resident in 1999. I opened a practice in Lorena for five years then bought a new building close to Providence Hospital and brought in a partner Dr. Natalie Lippe.
Denise and I were married in 1982. Our oldest son Quinn is an attorney in Dallas is married to Erica who is getting her MBA at SMU, our second son Zane is doing his family medicine residency at Columbia in New York City and is married to Janice who is in law school at NYU, and our youngest daughter Janna did honors program violin performance, and premed at Baylor and will marry Daniel this summer and plan to start a music career in Seattle. I have a satisfying and rewarding family medicine clinical and hospital practice.
