- Dr Bukowski is a Clinical Professor of Urology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with Board Certification in Pediatric Urology. He has a large clinical practice where he treats patients both at the UNC Children's Hospital and WakeMed Children's Hospital in Raleigh. He is fortunate to have experienced, knowledgeable colleagues and staff at both institutions to help treat patients with complex urological problems. He has written and lectured extensively on the subject of vesicoureteral reflux and urinary tract infection in children, and developed a specific surgical technique for patients with vesicoureteral reflux.
At UNC he has worked on the The Randomized Intervention for Vesicoureteral Reflux (RIVUR) Study, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, and was an investigator on the clinical trial for the use of Ciprofloxacin in children with urinary tract infection. While in Michigan he was involved with the study on the safety and tolerability of oxybutinin chloride in children with neurogenic bladders. Currently he has trials for BOTOX and other medicines to treat overactive bladder problems in children.
He has received many clinical teaching awards, and has authored over 50 journal article or book chapters.
He is an Instructor for USA Hockey Coaching Continuing Education Program, and has been involved in many community organizations, including Boy Scouts of America.
