Summary
- I am currently working part time at Loma Linda VA Health Systems as a staff cardiologist. We still take 2 outreach trips to Africa each year. Previously, we lived in Blantyre, Malawi for 5 years as a medical missionary doing humanitarian work as the only cardiologist in the small African nation of about 14 million people. Malawi is consistently one of the poorest countries...with not much hope for rapid development. Most people are subsistence farmers in rural areas. However, there are about 1 million people in Blantyre and surrounds.
