- I am a board-certified physician practicing academic medicine in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and infectious diseases, currently at VA Medical Center in West Los Angeles. I am a Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Geriatric Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Research Professor at the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. I have previously held positions of Chief of Division of Geriatric Medicine; Chairman, Dept. of Medicine;Interim Dean, College of Medicine; Interim President of a Health Science University; and national Director of VA Office of Geriatrics and Extended Care in VA Central Office, Washington, DC. My field of interest is in infectious diseases in older adults. I have published over 200 scientific articles and 18 books/monographs.
