Summary
- I am a board certified pediatric emergency medicine physician with a background in international health and disaster preparedness. I am particularly interested emergency management and mitigating disasters for pediatric health care facilities both here in the US and internationally. I recently completed fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. During fellowship, I researched the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on pediatric emergency centers and collected best-practice measures from centers across the United States so institutions can learn from prior experiences to be better prepared for disease outbreaks in the future. Additionally, I spent several months abroad in Malawi, Africa assisting the department of pediatrics at a government hospital with their education of trainees, boosting the clinician coverage within the wards, and collaborating with local clinicians on quality improvement and other research.
