  • Thomas Riolo DO, FAAPMR is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and practices at NYU Langone Health. He is a triple board certified Physiatrist/Pain Management specialist. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation as well as the American Board of Osteopathic Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He is also Board Certified in Pain Medicine. He attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated in 2010. He performed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at New York University Langone Medical Center in New York. He also served as Chief Resident at Bellevue Hospital and Manhattan Veterans Association Medical Center. He then completed fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital System in New York.

    His focus is evaluation and non-operative treatment of spinal disorders and conditions such as, but not limited to, stenosis, herniated discs, facet joint inflammation, and myofascial pain syndrome. He performs fluoroscopic (X-ray) guided injections such as epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks, and facet joint injections. He also performs trigger point injections to help alleviate pain caused by spasm and myofascial pain syndrome. He also performs ultrasound guided joint injections for a multitude of joint issues including arthritis.

    Dr. Riolo's care philosophy focuses on patient education and exploring all means of conservative measure prior all treatment options prior to more invasive procedures. Dr. Riolo strives to treat each patient with compassion and understanding, while explaining each condition thoroughly.
