Summary
- I am currently an attending neurosurgeon at North Shore University Hospital and an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. We are a large system with experts in all fields of neurosurgery.
My specialty is in cerebrovascular neurosurgery, with expertise in both open surgical and endovascular/interventional neurosurgical procedures. This gives me the unique ability to choose the most appropriate, unbiased approach for each individual patient. I have expertise in the most cutting edge techniques and technologies related to the treatment of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, carotid and intracranial stenosis, stroke, and subdural hematoma.
I am a Long Island native and studied biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University and received a Master of Science in Engineering. I received my medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed my residency in neurological surgery at New York-Presbyterian in Manhattan. I continued on to a fellowship at Weill Cornell concentrating in endovascular neurosurgery/interventional neuroradiology.
I have a passion for research and innovation, striving to advance the field of neurosurgery in order to provide better care for patients. I am currently the lead investigator on two clinical trials involving a minimally invasive alternative and adjunct to surgery for chronic subdural hematomas. I have also started a novel clinical trial investigating the use of intra-arterial neuroprotective substances in stroke intervention. The bond with my patients is important to me and decisions are always based on interpersonal relationships and patient-centered care.
