Summary
- Dr. Thomas A. Berk, MD FRCSC, is a fellowship-trained glaucoma, complex cataract, and anterior segment surgeon. He is board-certified by both the American Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is affiliated with the Emory Eye Center and Grady Memorial Hospital. He obtained his MD degree from the University of Toronto, completed his residency at McGill University, and then completed a clinical and surgical fellowship in complex glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, under the mentorship of Dr. Ian P. Conner, MD PhD.
Dr. Berk is experienced in both traditional glaucoma surgical techniques (trabeculectomy and tube shunt surgeries) as well as more novel, micro-invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). His comfort with complex anterior segment procedures allows him to further support the Emory Eye Center and the surrounding Georgia population by serving as a referral destination for patients suffering from dislocated intraocular lenses, traumatic cataracts, and iris defects requiring surgical repair.
