• Dr. Theresa H. Williams is a Psychiatrist living and working in San Antonio, TX and is affiliated with Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans' Hospital (VISN 17). She received her Medical Degree from University of Texas Health Science Center @ San Antonio and has been in practice for 20+ years. She specializes in Adult Psychiatry (age 18-90-years-old) and is experienced and very knowledgeable in Military-Centered medical care, Veteran-Centered medical care and Medical Student/Resident Psychiatric Medical Education (as an Associate Adjunct Clinical Professor via UTHSCSA Department of Psychiatry). Dr. Williams has extensive knowledge and experience working with Psychiatric patients w/ Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders (with a very specific expertise in treating PTSD), Bipolar-Spectrum Disorders, Psychosis, Thought Disorders and other Schizophrenic-Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders, as well as Substance Use Disorders and Personality Disorders. Dr. Williams started her career at the Audie L. Murphy Veteran’s Memorial Hospital but within a few years, she transition to working exclusively with combat-wounded service members, from all branches of the US Military, at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). Her career at SAMMC spanned 14-years and she concurrently served for 5-years as the Psychiatric Consult Liaison to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Clinic to assist with behavioral issues related to severe open- and closed-head injuries/traumas. More recently, Dr. Williams has transitioned back to working as an Outpatient Clinician and as an Inpatient Attending at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital. Dr. Williams focuses all of her care and attention on treating our Nation’s Veterans, many of whom struggle with Mental Health issues which are usually intimately intertwined w/ an often very complex health history/profile. Dr. Williams’ goal in returning to the VA has been to help heal our Nations Hero’s, one Veteran at a time!
