  • Dr. Theresa Cooney is a cornea surgeon and specialist who sees patients at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center in Milford. Her clinical practice focuses on the treatment of cornea and external diseases including ocular surface disease, dry eye disease, corneal infections, corneal dystrophies, ocular surface tumors, and corneal transplantation; refractive surgery including IntraLase LASIK, LASEK, PRK; and intraocular lens replacement surgery. She also handles comprehensive eye care including the medical and surgical treatment of eye diseases and cataracts (including usage of toric lens implants).

    Dr. Cooney’s research interests include uses for topical cyclosporine, corneal involvement in systemic disease, corneal cross linking, femtosecond refractive surgery, effects of alpha-1 antagonists on cataract surgery, and temporary keratoprostheses.
