- Dr. Tenesa Rivera is a board certified psychiatrist. She obtained her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, completing the Women's Health Education Pathway with distinctions.
Embracing a desire to help people optimize joy in their life, she trained in psychiatry at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Rivera was drawn to the tender early developmental years and how it relates to overall wellness. She completed a fellowship at Jefferson University Hospital in child and adolescent psychiatry as a chief fellow.
Dr. Rivera has been practicing for over 16 yrs, and carries with her experience and knowledge obtained while serving in a broad range of areas, including outpatient, partial hospitalization, residential treatment facility, crisis response center and school settings. She served as an adjunct faculty member at Drexel University College of medicine supervising, educating and mentoring medical students and resident physicians.
With this rich clinical background, Dr Rivera maintains the knowledge and experience to comfortably diagnose and manage a wide-range of diagnosis and conditions. This includes anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and ADHD, to name a few.
Recognizing each person’s individual place on their healing journey, Dr. Rivera integrates personalized modalities for a holistic treatment approach. This may include healthy sleep hygiene practices, meditation, relaxation techniques, healthy lifestyle practices and if appropriate, medication.
Dr Rivera enjoys working with diverse patient populations and provides a space of acceptance and compassion. Her primary language is english and she is also a native spanish speaker.
With the belief that each person inherently has the tools needed to heal, Dr. Rivera helps them discover their own potential, allowing self-empowerment to lead them through their journey of healing and being. Every person should feel seen and heard, and she strives to provide that space for all of her patients.
