- Tanya Hoke, MD, FACOG is a fellowship trained Urogynecologist specializing in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hoke is an expert in minimally invasive surgery including vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic approaches. She specializes in both native tissue (no mesh) techniques of vaginal prolapse repair as well as robotic procedures involving the use of mesh. She has extensive training in both non-surgical and surgical approaches to the treatment of a variety of pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, fecal incontinence and complications from mesh. In addition, she offers office-based procedures as an outpatient.
Dr. Hoke is originally from Los Angeles, CA and graduated from University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She completed her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Hoke then went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from Christiana Care Health System where she was recognized as the best teaching resident by the medical students. She then pursued a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At UAB, Dr. Hoke spearheaded a new program to improve the quality of care for patients who sustained a 3rd or 4th degree perineal laceration during childbirth. As part of this initiative, she developed and implemented a Postpartum Perineal Clinic in the OBGYN department. Dr. Hoke has multiple peer-reviewed publications and has presented her research both at national and international conferences.
