His research interests include enhanced recovery after surgery, patient outcomes, emerging technologies and techniques, medical education and healthcare economics.
Dr. Chen received his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Toronto. Under the UToronto hospital system, he completed a combined orthopaedic and neurosurgical fellowship in complex spine and trauma surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center and St. Michael’s Hospital.
In his personal time, Dr. Chen enjoys traveling, archery, Olympic fencing, and spending time with his family and friends.
