- Dr. Taha Gholipour is an assistant professor of neurology, a clinician, and a researcher at the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates and its Epilepsy Center. His clinical interests include management and treatment of drug resistant epilepsy. He works with a multidisciplinary team to design personalized surgical treatment plans, including minimally invasive surgeries and neurostimulation devices. He provides care to people with epilepsy in Washington, DC and also in Arlington, Virginia. He speaks English, Farsi, and French.
Dr. Gholipour's research interests include using structural and functional MRI in improving treatment of epilepsy, and for better understanding how epilepsy affects human brain. He also collaborates with other centers in Washington, DC area and Boston, MA for his research. Dr. Gholipour has authored multiple articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Neurology, Annals of Neurology, Epilepsia, Epilepsy & Behavior, and also book chapters.
Dr. Gholipour obtained his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran, and completed his internship and neurology residency in Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, teaching affiliates of Harvard Medical School. He further specialized in treatment of epilepsy by doing a fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging. He is board certified in neurology and epilepsy.
